You’ve probably heard the saying “life is what you make it.” Well, the same thing goes for your travel destinations.
You don’t have to go far to discover some amazing places – the United States is home to some of the most beautiful and diverse landscapes in the world.
From the beaches of California to the mountains of Colorado, America is definitely a land of opportunity when it comes to travel.
In this post, we’ll cover seven of our favourite destinations in the good ol’ U.S A. So pack your bags and get ready for an adventure!
Miami, Florida
So you finally decided to ditch the cold, dreary winters up north and take a much-needed vacation in the sun. You’ve always wanted to check out Miami, and now seems like as good a time as any.
Miami is well known for its Art Deco architecture, beautiful beaches and trendy nightlife. There’s also plenty to do for nature lovers, with options like airboat tours, nature and wildlife tours, and day cruises. And of course, no trip to Miami is complete without a visit to South Beach – home to some of the best shopping and dining in the city.
New York City, New York
If you only have time to visit one city in the United States, make it New York City. Not only is it the most populous city in the country, but it’s also home to some of the most famous tourist destinations on the planet.
The Statue of Liberty is the number one attraction in New York City, and it’s easy to see why. The colossal green statue has welcomed new immigrants to America for over a century. If you’re looking for an iconic view of the city, head to the top of the Empire State Building.
Times Square is another must-see destination in New York City. Bright lights, Broadway shows, and street performers make this area one of the most exciting in the world. And if you’re a fan of art, be sure to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The Rockefeller Center is another iconic New York City landmark. This Art Deco complex is home to theatres, restaurants, and – most famously – the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony every year. If you’re visiting New York City in September or November, be sure to check out the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.
And finally, no trip to New York City would be complete without a visit to Central Park. This 843-acre park is home to scenic gardens, ponds, and – of course – plenty of trees.
Los Angeles, California
There are endless things to do in Los Angeles, and you’re going to want to do them all. Start your day off by visiting Universal Studios Hollywood. You can ride the world’s most popular roller coaster, the Simpsons Ride, or go face-to-face with King Kong.
In the afternoon, head over to Griffith Observatory and Griffith Park. Griffith Observatory is one of the world’s most famous observatories, and it offers amazing views of Los Angeles. Griffith Park is also a great place for a nature walk or a picnic.
Finish your day by visiting Disneyland Resort. Disneyland Resort is the Happiest Place on Earth, and with good reason – it’s got something for everyone. Ride the classic attractions like Splash Mountain and Space Mountain, or check out the newest additions like Star Tours – The Adventures Continue and Cars Land.
San Francisco, California
Head to San Francisco and enjoy both the thrill of a lifetime and the experience of a lifetime. Home to spectacular scenery, vibrant nightlife, and gourmet dining, this city has something for everyone. While you’re in San Francisco, pay a visit to the Golden Gate Bridge—has it ever been said that you can’t cross that one off your bucket list? Even if it hasn’t been saying, cross it off anyway! Plus, you can also spend some time at Alcatraz Island as you enjoy the tour to learn more about the history of this notorious prison. After spending time at Alcatraz, cap off your day with a trip to Fisherman’s Wharf and take in magnificent views of the city.
Las Vegas, Nevada
Ahh, Vegas: the Sin City. This vibrant mecca of hedonism is a must-visit if you’re looking to experience everything the U.S. has to offer. And while casinos, shows and nightclubs may be what spring to mind when you think of Vegas, there’s actually a lot more to explore.
A trip down Fremont Street is an absolute must for any Vegas visit; from classic tattoos and rockabilly thrift stores to the wild neon lights of downtown casinos – there’s something for everyone if you know where to look! Meanwhile, the Mob Museum offers a fascinating insight into the city’s gangster past and its High Roller Ferris Wheel provides spectacular views of the Strip below. So forget what you thought you knew about Sin City – chances are you’ll be surprised by all it has to offer!
Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
The Grand Canyon is a must-see if you’re headed to the United States. Here at the Arizona destination, you can expect to see, well – a grand canyon! But that’s not all – there are plenty of beautiful lookouts in store for you. Two notable ones are Mather Point and Hopi Point – each offering expansive views from its respective 1,597 and 635 feet elevation points above sea level. For an even higher view, be sure to check out the Grand Canyon Skywalk – an observation deck perched at 5,195 feet above sea level. Last but not least, there are four main destinations for you to explore within this majestic landscape: South Rim, Grand Canyon West, Grand Canyon East and North Rim. Amazingly enough, they’re all just as breathtaking as each other!
Washington DC
Looking for some patriotic fun? Then Washington, DC is the place for you! Come and check out the United States Capitol and Capitol Hill, where all the laws of the land are made. Then, head over to the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and take in a show – you may even have a celebrity sighting or two! But if arts and culture isn’t your thing, why not pay your respects at Arlington National Cemetery instead? All 7 U.S. presidents rest in peace here. In Washington DC, you’ll get historical understandings like no other!
So, if you’re looking for a change of scenery and someplace to escape the cold, winter weather, any of these seven tourist destinations will do the trick! Just be sure to book your trip soon, before all the good spots fill up. Have fun!
